"Brantome Villa is an oasis of tranquility, man-made lake and all... Brantome is what they describe as a ‘‘luxury boutique B&B’’. The rooms are immaculate and separate from the main dwelling, so you get privacy if you want, or you can join your hosts for dinner and a chat. All alcohol and a minibar is included in the cost of the room - this is a great deal really, especially if you like your plonk... With these high-end places, it’s the little things that make the difference, and these guys are big on details."

"Brantome Villa is a peaceful B&B set in established gardens bordered by a lake and native puiri and totara groves, on the rural outskirts of Whangarei. The elegant king and queen rooms are semi-attached to the modern colonial-style house (with a gourmet kitchen to die for, where the owners make lavish Devonshire cream teas). The neighbours are the 18 hole Northland Golf Course, and a massage and Reiki therapist. Bliss." Suzanne McFadden.

"We stayed at Brantome Villa for 2 nights in early January. Valerie & Roger are friendly and obliging hosts who provide a well appointed, clean and tidy facility. Dinner and breakfasts were just perfect. They are only too happy to recommend activities / sights in the Whangarei area. "We spent 2 nights at Brantome Villa while visiting the Bay of Islands area of New Zealand. I can't say enough about the warmth and hospitality we experienced from Valerie and Roger, our hosts. Add to that, the wonderful accommodations. Our room was beautifully appointed with exceptional linens and furnishings. The bathroom had great fixtures and the towels and robes were of the finest quality. The setting at Brantome is gorgeous - surrounded by beautiful verdant hills, the large lawns, with a gazebo, roll down to a lovely lake. All this can be viewed from inside the villa or from the surrounding porch with multiple seating areas. Breakfast was yummy, but again I must comment on the graciousness of our hosts.
